Lytchett Minster School - A-level and BTEC Level 3 results

We are delighted to celebrate another year of excellent A-Level and BTEC Level 3 results, reflecting the hard work, determination and resilience shown by our students throughout their two-year courses. Their achievements are richly deserved and a testament to their dedication and commitment. We congratulate them all and wish them every success as they take the next step in their journeys, whether progressing to university, higher education, apprenticeships or employment. We also commend the unwavering commitment and expertise of our teaching staff, whose guidance and support have been instrumental in these achievements.

This year has seen some brilliant individual performances by a large number of students. Matthew Adolphe achieved A*A*BB in psychology, politics, Spanish and biology.  Matthew has been accepted on to a course European social and political studies at University College London.

Edward Massey achieved AAAB (maths, further maths, physics, history) and is now going to study aeronautics at the University of Southampton. Will Scott (biology, maths and physics) and Esme Woodford (biology, psychology and religious studies) both achieved AAA. Will is now heading to complete a degree apprenticeship, and Esme is going to the University of Edinburgh to study philosophy and psychology.

Evie Lee achieved A*AA in biology, chemistry and psychology.  Evie will be going to the University of Bath to study biomedical sciences. Phoebe Sutton, who achieved the school STEM award this year, achieved A*AB in psychology, biology and chemistry and an A* in the AS Extended Project Qualification (EPQ). Like Evie, Phoebe will be going to the University of Bath, where she will study biology. Lilah Cranham will be going to Bournemouth University to study criminology with psychology after achieving A*AA in sociology, psychology and criminology (Diploma). Artemis Parker achieved A*BC in psychology, politics and history. Artemis has been offered a place at the University of Winchester to study history and politics.  Daisy Whitfield also achieved A*BC (maths, physics, computer studies), and will now be going to the University of Sussex to study mathematics.

Jess Vincent achieved AAB (psychology, religious studies, history) and will now take a gap year Tilly Feltham will also take a gap year after achieving AAC (photography, sociology, English literature).  Luke Hare achieved ABBB (maths, chemistry, computer studies, geography) and now has a place at the University of Sussex to study chemistry (with an industrial placement year).

Amy Simpson achieved ABBC (psychology, German, history, photography). The grades ABB were achieved by Zac Burke (geography, business, history), Huw Howell (sociology, geography, history), Spike Knight (chemistry, maths, physics), Laura Sambells (maths, history, politics), Grace Taylor (psychology, biology, chemistry) and Amelia Thynne (French, English Literature and maths). Spike has managed to secure a degree apprenticeship with JP Morgan and Huw will be moving to Canada to study humanities.

Lacey Hodgson achieved ABC in sociology, English literature and history, and will now be going to the University of Winchester to study primary education with QTS.

There were also some superb performances in our BTEC courses:

Jonathan Lewry (Production Arts), Bethany Aggas, Rhiannon Hobby and Sophie Streamer (Health and Social Care), and Rufus King (Sport) all achieved Triple Distinction Star in BTEC National Extended Diploma courses.  Jonathan will now go on to work in his own audio production business. Bethany will be completing an apprenticeship, and longer term look to train as a midwife. Rhiannon will be going to Southampton University to study midwifery, Sophie will be going to the Bournemouth University to study children’s and young people’s nursing, and Rufus, who also achieved a grade B in A-level biology, will take a gap year before applying for Sports Medicine Science next year at King’s College London.

Double Distinction Star was achieved in BTEC National Diplomas by Ellie Cracknell (health and social care), Amelie Sanderson and Lily Taylor (film and television). 

Jolie Batten and Paige Fry both achieved Distinction Star and Double Distinction in the Extended Diploma in health and social care, and Rosie Parr achieved an A* in her criminology Diploma and a B in A-level English literature.

The following students all achieved Distinction Star and Distinction in BTEC National Diplomas: Jack Motton (sport), who also achieved a grade C in history, Jessica Allen (performing arts), who also achieved grade A in A-level drama and B in English literature, Ethan Meldrum (sport), Jessica Selby (health and social care), who also achieved  B grades in A-level photography and product design, Maia Johns, who also achieved a C in A-level sociology, Oscar Little, who also achieved a C in A-level sociology, and Toby Mott (sport), who also achieved a C in A-level biology.

In BTEC National Extended Certificate, Distinction Star was achieved by Bobby Samuelson (applied science) and Noah Ladle (sport). Bobby also achieved a B in history and a C in politics.

The school’s Key Stage 5 results are once again very pleasing. We are delighted that students studying at Lytchett achieve so well at A level and BTEC Level 3.  We wish all our Year 13 students well as they head off to university, apprenticeships, the world of work or the increasingly popular ‘gap year’. They are a very impressive group of students, and it has been a privilege and delight to work with them and to see them develop into confident, well-rounded young adults.
