The Duke of Edinburgh's bronze award is the level that can be completed in the shortest (minimum) amount of time. For each award level, there are four sections that must be completed: volunteering, skills, physical and expedition.
For the bronze award, each section must be undertaken for at least:
|3 months||3 months||3 months||Plan, train and complete a two-day, one-night expedition|
|All participants must undertake a further 3 months in either the volunteering, skills or physical section.|
Further details regarding the requirements for each section can be found using the buttons below.
Completing the Bronze Award
The first thing that you need to do is register with the scheme through the school. The deadline for registering for the 2017/18 cohort is 14th October 2017.
Part of the registration process will open you an account on the Duke of Edinburgh web portal (eDofE). You will use eDofE to log the activities that you intend on completing for each section. In addition to this, you will use eDofE to record evidence to support the completion of each section.
Evidence to Support Section Completion
In order for your group assessor to confirm that each section has been completed to the required standard, you must provide supporting evidence. This can take the form of a short written statement from your club/activity supervisor, along with photographs, videos, copies of certificates etc. - all of which must be uploaded to eDofE.
