Mrs Carrier recently decided to attempt a skydive for Parkinson’s UK to give something back to the charity that has been supporting her husband’s grandmother for the past year. She writes: “When I say ‘decided’, I actually mean that my husband decided to book me in! I agreed, knowing that due to my crippling fear of heights, it would be a huge challenge for me – exactly how these past years have been for Nanny V and every other Parkinsons’ sufferer.
“The jump took place at Netheravon Airfield on a beautiful blue-skied morning. I was surprised that I accepted my fate with more composure than I thought I was capable of! Sometimes you just have to roll with it! I still can’t believe I did it and I’m still working hard to keep the fundraising going and the money coming in for this incredible charity.”
