Parent Teachers Association
The PTA exists to advance the education of the pupils of the school by providing and assisting in the provision of facilities not normally provided by the LEA. It attempts to foster more extended relationships between the staff, parents and others associated with the school.
In the past the PTA has arranged fund raising events (such as recreation of English Civil War Battles on the school playing fields) to raise money for the purchase of a school minibus and to provide first aid and PE equipment. More recently this type of fund raising has been replaced by a voluntary covenancy/donation scheme and the organisation has concentrated its activities on education evenings and social events such as quizzes.
All parents are automatically members of the PTA.
