Ofsted Reports

Our latest inspection on 11th and 12 June 2013 was carried out under the new Ofsted regime and follows the government's stated intention to reduce the number of schools deemed to be outstanding. The inspection came at the end of a year disrupted by a major fire which resulted in all Key Stage 3 students missing one third of their education for a whole term and at a time when three senior years were on study leave.

We are delighted with the report which clearly describes a very good school with an outstanding curriculum provision for all of its students and a particular an outstanding Sixth Form.

Quotes from the Ofsted Report (inspection number 411967) - Published June 2013

  • "Students benefit greatly from the high quality of teaching"

  • "High levels of ambition for the school are evident"

  • "Students are well prepared for the world beyond"

  • "Teachers create a positive climate for learning. Teaching motivates and inspires students."

  • "The curriculum is outstanding."

Following a whole school Ofsted inspection on the 9th and 10th of December 2009 we were delighted to have been named an "outstanding" school, and would like to share the report with all our staff, parents and visitors by making it available here.

The school was highly praised in many different areas, and we have summarised the report by including some of the content below for your convenience.
