 | Lytchett Minster Comenius Project | The Comenius project is a project that is carried out by four schools in Europe, one being our school, Lytchett Minster School. The current two year project, involves: | - Hungary (Madach Imre Gimnazium)
- Spain (IES Las Fuentezuelas)
- France (College Le Castillon)
|
| Lytchett Minster is the leading school for this project, so our school is getting vastly involved with other activities and foreign trips to the other schools. It gives Lytchett Minster School pupils a wider experience of varied countries across Europe, and to experience different cultures. 300 students at Lytchett have the opportunity to communicate with pen pals across Europe in the participating schools. All the activities and trips are completely paid for by the organisers of the Comenius project. So, the opportunity is taken with great excitement. The reasons why we are corresponding with the schools are because we have exchanged with the school in France for 17 years, so we know them and the school very well. The school in Spain is because La Manche is twinned with Dorset, and the school in Hungary, is because the school wanted to experience more of eastern European. The students stay with the families that are also taking part with the Comenius project. | | Mr Moore, the project leader, says: “I have a passion for giving students a great experience of what other cultures are like; taking students on trips free of charge is an amazing experience for both the teachers and the students”. | For people that consider taking a language for GCSE, take the opportunity to go on a free trip as it will look great on your school record. |
