Welcome to Lytchett Minster School! It is a privilege to introduce you to this excellent and very special school. The school stands on a very beautiful site in the heart of Dorset countryside just a few miles from the world heritage coastline and the facilities of Poole and Bournemouth. The school's accommodation ranges from traditional to modern and is uniformly well equipped to deliver an ambitious and varied 21st Century curriculum. Careful architecture and landscaping reflect our concern to create an inspirational context for learning. Lytchett Minster School is a comprehensive school that genuinely caters for the complete ability and social spectrum. Our focus is on providing a world class education for all our students. This means delivering a curriculum that is relevant and exciting - and produces first class examination results. It means developing a school that abounds in extracurricular opportunities for students to explore their interests and potential. It also means maintaining a pastoral attitude that every student not only matters but is known and treated as an individual. Good schools also help students to look outwards, developing healthy values and accepting their responsibility towards others. We believe we have demonstrated that time and again in Ofsted inspections that have verified this as a very good school with many outstanding features and in examination results that are consistently good at all levels - in 2008, for example, our sixth form results showed the best value added in Bournemouth, Poole, Dorset, Hampshire, Wiltshire, Devon and Somerset. Perhaps the strongest or most important features of the school are the affection our students have for the school and the warmth of the relationships between students and staff. In a very real sense, we see the school as a family in which our parents play a vital part.
It is not possible to convey fully the atmosphere and ethos of the school on screen and you are, of course, most welcome to visit the school on our Open Days or for an individual visit. For more information, please ring the school office on 01202 622413. Stuart Clark

Upcoming EventsSorry, there are no events planned Latest NewsTHE SCHOOL DRIVE! We are pleased to announce the good news that, in the last few weeks, Dorset County Council has agreed to rectify the school drive. As parents will be aware, this has deteriorated under severe pressure caused by the lengthy construction process. The work will be carried out during the summer holiday and will involve the complete rebuilding of some sections where the sub course has been irreparably damaged. Because of the extent of the works, this could not be undertaken before the summer holiday. It is obviously important that in the mean time drivers keep to the 15mph speed limit when using the school drive and proceed with care. Thank you for your patience in bearing with us. Start dates for the next academic year (2010/11) will be as follows:
Triple P (Positive Parenting Programme) information has been released. The scheme helps parents to build strong relationships and good communication with their children over four 2 hour sessions at Wareham Youth Centre.
